In the spirit of doing one thing and doing it well - this plugin allows you to add the Google Webmaster verify meta tag to the <head></head> of your skin. Nothing more, nothing less ![]()
Settings
Meta Tag Name: This is the name of the meta tag as specified on the "Verify a Site" page in Google Webmaster. This defaults to 'verify-v1' as this is what Google always calls it but make sure any way and change it if it is different.
Meta Tag Content: The content of the meta tag as specified on the "Verify a Site" page in Google Webmaster. This will be the random letters between the quotes.
Download the Google Webmaster Plugin, upload it to your plugins folder and install it via the Global Settings tab. Read the readme file and update your settings. Post a comment here with any questions.

I know that this goes away from the 'do 1 thing and do it good', but have you tought of integrating also the google adsence code ?
Then I would have 1 plugin for all the google code stuff.
Hi Topanga

I hadn't thought about that actually. It is difficult to know where to stop though as there is also the google analytics plugin that could be integrated. Is it better to have one big plugin that does everything that google offers (even if you don't need all of it) or separate specific plugins that do the individual jobs so you can pick and choose?
I kind of like to pick and choose
Lee
Isn't is so that everybody who uses webmaster tools, also uses analytics (or should use it) ?

Pick and choose is good,
have it (all your codes) all in 1 frame and just tick the boxes you want to use seems to have even more logic to me
I have already so many plugins, that maintaining 1 is easyer than 3
Sorry, I think I'm being particularly dense today, but where is the plugins folder that I need to upload this to?
Hi WildAutumn
On your server where you have b2evolution installed you should have a folder called plugins. That is where you need to upload it to. When I say 'your server' I mean the one owned by your hosting company that hosts http://www.wildautumn.co.uk/
can you please me which folders are you talking about is it ... my ftp folder...copy the codes... please suggest...
Hi BIGGIG
You need to download the plugin and unzip it. You should then have a folder called google_webmaster_plugin which you need to upload to your /plugins folder where your blog is installed.
Cheers
